Main component of the programme
Preliminary / concepts
The lectures will focus on central concepts and theories required to handle interdisciplinary projects.
Methods : space and time scales
The lectures will provide the methodological basis for developing a new temporal and spatial integrative approach.
Case Studies
These case studies will illustrate the theory and provide some guidelines to help students to apply the concepts within the small-group interdisciplinary projects.
Interdisciplinary projects
Three afternoons are dedicated to the small-group projects : 10 groups of 4 students will be composed of summer school students based on particular disciplinary criteria. An open list of topics for the projects will be provided by the summer school organizers. The groups will work together to develop new integrated spatial and temporal conceptual frameworks.
Seminars
The evenings will be dedicated to seminars linked to the summer school theme featuring presentations by operational services personnel.
